07 MAY 2025
Riyadh, May 7, 2025 - The Federation of Saudi Chambers announced the formation of the Saudi-Dutch Business Council for its inaugural term (1446-1450 AH), following approval from the General Authority of Foreign Trade, and elected Dr. Abdulrahman Ahmed Al-Mufarreh as chairman, with Engineer Khalid Abdulmohsen Al-Thumairi and Engineer Waleed Ameen Ibrahim Smaan as vice-chairmen.
Chairman of the Saudi-Dutch Business Council Abdulrahman Al-Mufarreh explained that forming the council represents a new phase in the economic relations between the Kingdom and the Netherlands, to enable both business sectors to capitalize on promising investment opportunities and enhance commercial and investment partnerships between them.
He indicated that the council held its first meeting to discuss setting specific targets and a strategic work plan, implementing it in coordination with government entities to provide a conducive investment environment for enhancing commercial and investment partnerships between business sectors in both countries.
Al-Mufarreh confirmed that the work plan will focus on targeted sectors in both countries, especially in Saudi Vision 2030, introducing investment opportunities and markets in Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands, maximizing benefits from comparative advantages and relevant trade and economic agreements, and enabling Dutch companies to enter the Saudi market, which is among the largest markets in the region.
It is worth noting that the Federation of Saudi Chambers and its counterpart, the Netherlands Business Council, signed an agreement in April 2024 to establish a Saudi-Dutch business council, officially launching its operations today as an important platform for business owners from both countries.
