Amsterdam/Dhahran, September 13, 2021 - Shell and AMG Recycling B.V., in partnership with the United Company for Industry, announced signing an MoU with Saudi Aramco to build a recycling "Supercenter" in the Kingdom.
Project Details:
• Location: Al-Jubail Industrial City
• Objective: Build a world-class metals reclamation and recycling complex
• Focus: Extract vanadium from oil refining products
• Production capacity: High-purity vanadium pentoxide production
Strategic Objectives:
• Support Vision 2030 ambitions to accelerate energy transition
• Achieve sustainability and circular economy goals
• Develop local supply chains for critical metals
• Create specialized job opportunities in the industrial sector
Added Value:
• Transform industrial waste into valuable raw materials
• Reduce dependence on rare metals imports
• Enhance Saudi-Dutch technical partnership

Commercial operation is expected to begin within the next two years.
